The core working principle of the semiconductor refrigeration-based atmospheric water generator is to cool ambient air and liquefy water vapor contained in the air into fine droplets, so as to realize freshwater acquisition. Moist air, the water source for atmospheric water harvesting, exists ubiquitously on Earth.

Structure and Working Principle of the Semiconductor Refrigeration-based Atmospheric Water Generator
The system of the device consists of an air pump, temperature and humidity sensors, a condensation chamber, a water collector and a water circulation unit. The water collector is integrated with components such as a laser device and a water depth sensor.
Ambient air is drawn into the condensation chamber by the air pump installed at the air inlet. The condensation chamber is thermally connected to semiconductor thermoelectric cooling chips, which continuously supply cooling capacity to lower the internal temperature of the chamber. The incoming air makes contact with cold-end fins inside the condensation chamber, generating heat and moisture exchange between the moist air and the cold fins.
Since the temperature of the moist air is higher than that of the cold-end fins, heat transfers from the air to the fins via convective heat transfer, which gradually cools down the moist air. When the air temperature drops to the dew point corresponding to its relative humidity, gaseous water vapor in the moist air condenses into liquid water and precipitates, adhering to the fin surfaces to form tiny droplets. As the droplets grow in volume, their gravitational force exceeds the adhesive force exerted by the fins. The droplets then fall off the fin surfaces and are collected by the water tank arranged underneath.
