The core working principle of the semiconductor refrigeration-based atmospheric water generator is to cool ambient air and liquefy the water vapor contained in the air into fine droplets, so as to realize the acquisition of fresh water. Ubiquitous moist air on the earth serves as the water source for atmospheric water harvesting, which is easily accessible and can be directly processed into fresh water. Structure and Working Principle of Semiconductor Refrigeration-based Atmospheric Water Generator
The system of the semiconductor refrigeration-based atmospheric water generator consists of an air pump, temperature and humidity sensors, a condensation chamber, a water collector and a water circulation device. The water collector is internally equipped with a laser module, a water depth sensor and other components.
The air pump at the air inlet delivers ambient air into the condensation chamber, which is connected to semiconductor thermoelectric cooling chips. The chips continuously supply cooling capacity to the condensation chamber to reduce its internal temperature. The air entering the chamber comes into contact with the cold-end fins inside, triggering heat and moisture exchange between the moist air and the cold fins.
Since the temperature of the moist air is higher than that of the cold-end fins of the thermoelectric cooling chips, heat is transferred from the moist air to the fins through convective heat transfer, which gradually cools down the moist air. When the temperature of the moist air drops to the dew point corresponding to its relative humidity, the gaseous water vapor in the air will gradually condense into liquid water and precipitate, adhering to the fin surfaces to form fine droplets. As the droplets grow larger, their gravity exceeds the adhesive force provided by the fins, causing the droplets to drip down and be collected by the water tank arranged beneath the fins.
